“Mhm!!” She scoops another bite. “Very good! Though, I d-don’t think I could eat the whole carton.” Much too sweet for Mikan. Not that she doesn’t like chocolate.
“Summer is always the b-best time for ice cream,” Mikan adds, giving back the spoon. “Also beach trips. W-We should plan a beach trip soon!”
“A beach trip, huh? Yeah, that actually does sound fun.”
Easy agreement. Anything to help forget about the temperature that hung around most days this season. Grinning, he studied Mikan’s expression as he took back the spoon, quickly lifting another bite to his own mouth.
“Hitting the water would be nice. Maybe a good nap in the shade, too.”
“I’m n-not that messy, am I?” Mikan asks, taking the spoon from him and scooping a bite from the sundae. She manages not to drop any, holding a hand underneath the spoon as she lifts it to her mouth.
“It’s so h-hot out I don’t really care what flavour it is.”
“You? Nah.” Frankly, he’d been talking more about himself when he brought it up. A second taken to laugh at his own expense, and the remnant of what had been a bit of the ice cream dropped on the shorts he wore. Couldn’t believe that was how this sundae started.
“It’s good, though, right? Almost wanna finish the whole container in the freezer.”
